Larry Runyan President - Technical Support Engineer / Field Service Engineer
Larry is an entrepreneur who knows the value of planning, hard work, and dedication. He honed his technical and management skills while serving for six years as a reactor operator aboard the USS Nathanael Greene, a ballistic missile submarine. He furthered his knowledge by working as an instrumentation and control maintenance manager at the nuclear power plant, Three Mile Island.
Larry has over ten years of directly related analyzer service/repair experience and was the most experienced Rosemount employee on several analyzers manufactured by Rosemount Analytical, Inc. He also has an additional 15 years experience in related electronics, instrumentation, and control processes. In addition, he has broad business experience including managing both technical support and customer service operations, sales, research and development, and finance.
Mel Underwood Vice President of Operations - Technical Support Engineer / Field Service Engineer
Mel Underwood is a skilled electronics technician who is quality oriented and customer focused. During his eight years with the U.S. Air Force, Mel gained recognition for his work maintaining, installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing some forty-two different systems on various aircraft. In addition, Mel served as trainer and supervisor reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5) before honorably discharging from the Air Force in 1994.
Mel also has over eight years' experience in the communications industry and was responsible for designing and installing custom emergency equipment for police, fire, and emergency medical vehicles, as well as, land based repeater sites; this included the antenna and coaxial transmission lines, remote control points, and mobile and portable radios.
Mel began his gas career with Rosemount Analytical in 2001 as a Technical Support Representative in the International Department. He dealt directly with customers, providing technical assistance (operational theory and troubleshooting) and administrative support. Mel generated sales quotes, repair quotes, warranty requests, and coordinated international shipments.
Mel joined RIGAS in 2004. He has since sharpened his skills on the 5100A (CO analyzer), OCX4400 (combustibles analyzer), and all of the OPM2000 analyzer models.
Ross Barton [retired April 2010] Vice President of Human Resources [retired]
Ross Barton has a solid background in regulatory affairs having served for eight years as Director of Corporate Compliance for Cleveland based Premier Industrial Corporation (now Premier Farnell). Ross also has had extensive manufacturing experience having previously held executive positions in Quality Assurance, Industrial Engineering, and Office Administration. At RIGAS, Ross will be involved with various projects having to do with website administration, marketing, human resources, growth planning, and anything else that will help the boss have more time to spend with the customers.
Laura Runyan, CPA Controller
Laura has over 20 years of experience covering most aspects of financial management, tax, accounting and business ownership. She was employed as a CPA with Ernst & Young, was a manager in the financial department of a Fortune 500 company, owned a CPA firm for several years, and was the controller for a Christian publishing company.
Laura and Larry have been married for over 11 years and have two sons. Marriage and family are top priorities for Larry & Laura.
Eric Bloam Marketing and Technical Support Manager
Eric Bloam has joined the RIGAS team as a marketing and technical support manager. He has taken over for Ross Barton along with performing various other duties. He was previously employed as an Application Engineer with Keithley Instruments. Before that he was a Metrologist with NASA Glenn Research Center. He has 20 years’ experience in the test and measurement field doing both repair and customer support. Eric holds a BS degree in Electronic Technology from the University of Akron. Eric resides in North Ridgeville with his wife Dawn and their two children. Jason Kaufmann Bench Technician (analyzer repair)
Jason brings a different set of experiences to our company. He has circuit board manufacturing and test experience. He's also spent a few years doing field service work on ESPs (electrostatic precipitators). In his off hours, Jason is a volunteer fire fighter and an officer in CAP (Civil Air Patrol). In the spare time that he has after all of that, he's married to Anne and starting a family!

Dave Weaver (no longer employed at RIGAS) Bench Technician
Dave is no longer employed at RIGAS ... but we have fond memories of his time with us. Dave made many test fixtures and helped us engineer some interesting circuits to correct manufacturer's deficiencies, etc. We wish Dave well in his new field.
